Anna Eldin Assem was born in 1936, has been a supporter of our society for many years; initially accompanying her husband El-Sayes Assem to our meetings. However, since her husband’s tragic death in 2009, Anna and her sons have donated several bursaries each year to facilitate student attendance at our meetings with Anna able to meet and talk to them. A number of these bursary recipients are still active members of this society. Unfortunately, due to Anna’s decline in health, she was unable to attend the 50th Anniversary Meeting of the EHRS in Hannover to receive her Honorary Membership certificate but a little ceremony in London later this year (2022) has been planned.
